The original western version of The Grudge released in 2004, starred Sarah Michelle Gellar and was followed by 2 sequels furthering the story of a  violent rage which destroys the lives of everyone who comes in contact with it.

Takashi Shimizu directed both the Geller film and the 2002 Japanese original, both of which are solid entries in the noughties Japanese horror craze.
